Sterling Is EPL Player Of The Month

Raheem Sterling has been named the EPL Player for the month of August, with Mike Phelan named manager of the month.

The England international is rewarded for his exploits with the club in their three games, scoring twice and setting up one goal.
Sterling beat the likes of Eden Hazard, Curtis Davies and Manchester United’s Antonio Valencia to the award.
The 21-year-old endured a difficult campaign for club and country last season but has since bounced back in remarkable fashion under Guardiola.
Sterling paid tribute to the Spaniard for helping him turn his form around last month, saying: “The manager’s been in the game a long time, won stuff, worked with young players, worked with great players, and he knows how to get the best out of his players.
“He’s been a massive help. Not just for me, but the other players as well, the whole team.
“It’s good to have a manager that not just talks to me, but makes the whole team feel really welcome, makes everyone feel they are all one, whether you are starting or not.”
Hull City caretaker boss Mike Phelan has also been named Premier League Manager of the Month for the same month.
Phelan impressively guided the Tigers to wins over Premier League champions Leicester City and Swansea City, despite having a lack of fit players at his disposal.
